Man arrested in 2012 Wadmalaw Island murder

      WADMALAW ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) - Nearly two years after a man'sbody was found on Wadmalaw Island, Charleston County deputies charged a secondman with his murder.

      According to affidavits, Broderick William Seay Jr. andKevin Howard shot and killed 24-year-old Adrian Lyles, of West Ashley.

      A few days after Lyles' body was found, authorities arrestedKevin Lamar Howard. He is the victim's cousin, according to affidavits.

      Now officials say they have linked Seay to the murder aswell.

      During the investigation, detectives learned that two blackmen went to Lyles' home. When Lyles opened the door, one of the men hit him andpushed him back inside. There was a struggle, according to the affidavit, andthen the three men left the area in a gray sedan.

      The search for the second suspect was renewed on March 6 ofthis year when a fourth witness told detectives that Howard was covered inblood and had a broken thumb. The witness reportedly said the two men wereacting strange.

      According to the affidavit, later than night Howard brokedown in tears and said something bad had happened. Then the news of the murdersurfaced and the witness put the two things together, the affidavit states.{}
