      Man arrested on child porn charges during drug investigation

      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Mount Pleasant man was arrested after detectives found messages on his phone referencing sex acts with children.

      According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, 39-year-old James Boyd Gentry was charged with two counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and possession of marijuana.{}

      Deputies said the arrest was the result of an executed search warrant after a phone that belonged to Gentry was turned over to investigators during a drug investigation.{}

      Deputies linked the phone to Gentry and found messages about children engaged in sexual activities. When detectives seized computers from Gentry's home, they found two CDs that contained images of children performing sex acts.{}

      More charges may be pending, deputies said.{}

      Officials are also working with the FBI to identify the children in the pictures.

      His bond was set at $100,620 Tuesday.
