      Teen charged in 3 James Island burglaries

      JAMES ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A 19-year-old man was arrested and charged with three James Island burglaries on Thursday.

      According to the Charleston Police Department, Robert Joseph Elam, of Day Lily Lane, was charged with three counts of second-degree burglary.

      Police say Elam stole jewelry, silverware, prescription drugs and an assortment of silver and gold coins. All of the stolen items have been recovered.

      Elam is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
