MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A Conway man will serve 20 years in prison for the shooting death of a man in North Myrtle Beach.

The Sun News of Myrtle Beach reports that 43-year-old Kelly Jerome McNeil pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter Tuesday. McNeil had been charged with murder in the November, 2011, shooting death of 43-year-old Joe James of Conway.

The shooting happened at a North Myrtle Beach apartment complex.

Following the shooting, police surrounded McNeil's home and he was talked into surrendering without incident.
