LINCOLNVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County deputies are investigating a fatal shooting in the town of Lincolnville that happened late Saturday night.According to deputies, a man was shot in the leg shortly before 9:30 p.m. at a Big Oak Lane home by an unknown suspect who ran from the area after the incident. According to an incident report, deputies tried to stop the bleeding by fashioning a tourniquet out of a belt. The victim was taken to Trident Medical Center where he died.The coroner's office identified the victim as 38-year-old Ricardo Smith.Deputies say they do not have a motive for the shooting not have they identified the suspect, who they describe as a 5-foot, 10-inch black man with an average build in his early 30s. Witnesses said he was wearing dark clothing and a "Gilligan" style boonie hat.People at the scene could not tell deputies which way the man ran after the shooting.Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston County Sheriff's Office at 843-202-1700 or Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.
