Man surrenders in Myrtle Beach in carjacking death
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (AP) - A man wanted in a carjacking death in Myrtle Beach last week has surrendered to police.
Capt. David Knipes says 24-year-old Swava Lamere McCrea of Myrtle Beach surrendered to officers Monday.
McCrea is charged with murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Joshua Pyatt, who was found in his vehicle June 24. McCrea also is charged with carjacking, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a pistol.
Knipes says more arrests are expected.
Witnesses told police that Pyatt was in his car when they heard four gunshots and saw a man get into the car and drive away.
It was not clear if McCrea has an attorney.Copyright 2013 The Associated Press. All rights reserved. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten or redistributed.
