Man wanted in April 2 murder surrenders to police

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The man wanted in connection to a North Charleston murder turned himself over to police Monday night.{}

According to North Charleston police, a warrant was issued for the arrest of 26-year-old Bobby William Johnson, Jr., of North Charleston. Police say he is connected to the shooting on Woodlawn Avenue that happened on April 2.{}

Police said the victim, identified as{}22-year-old Daniel Patterson, was taken to Medical University Hospital where he died.{}

During the investigation, police say witnesses told them Johnson and Patterson were arguing before Johnson pulled out a gun and shot Patterson. According to police, Johnson ran after the shooting.{}

Johnson's bond was denied on the murder charge Tuesday morning. A judge levied a $50,000 bond for the the weapons charge.
