Man wanted in Gordon St shootout arrested

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston Police have arrested 17-year-old Terrence Kendall McNeil, Jr. in connection with the November 25th attempted armed robbery of a man on Gordon Street.

Police say they found McNeil in a residence at St. Charles Place Apartments. Police say he was arrested without incident. He's charged with attempted robbery, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

According to police, officers were told on Sunday that the victim was on Leeds Avenue. When they located him, he told them he had been parked in a vehicle on Gordon when a man came up to him with a gun.The victim told police that he grabbed the gun when it went off striking him in his left hand. Police say that's when the suspect ran off, firing his gun at the car as he ran. The victim admitted to police that he fired back at the suspect. Investigators were told a short time later that a shooting victim was brought into MUSC and rushed into surgery due to a gunshot wound.

According to officials with the NCPD, that gunshot wound was to McNeil's face and neck area, which resulted in the injuries apparent in his booking photo.
