Man wanted in robbery of Pawleys Island dollar store


PAWLEYS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- Georgetown County deputies are hoping the public can help them identify the man who robbed a Dollar General store on Pawleys Island Sunday night.

According to deputies, the robbery happened around 9:30 p.m. at the Ocean Highway location. The clerk told deputies a black man walked into the store and demanded money.

The clerk told deputies that the suspect ordered the clerk to the floor with what looked like a handgun. One employee escaped the store, according to a report.

Deputies described the suspect as a black man of average weight and height. He was wearing a long-sleeved gray hoodie, gray sweatpants, white tennis shoes, and had a mask covering his face.

Authorities released surveillance photos of the suspect on Wednesday.
