Marines warn of increased jet noise from training

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) -- Residents in the Beaufort area can expect to hear increased noise from jet aircraft due to training at the Marine Corps Air Station.

Marine spokesman Lance Cpt. R.J. Driver says the training is going on through Thursday. The noise may occur from 8 a.m. through midnight.

The pilots are training for an upcoming deployment, so the Marine Corps is asking the community's patience and support as the Marines get ready for their mission.

The training is going to involve repeated day and night takeoffs and landings, which can be somewhat bothersome to residents in the vicinity.
