CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The death of 17-year-old Marley Lion was a shock to the community. However, friends and family have found a way to come together and honor his life.

The idea for the festival originated on June 26th and in 32 days a steering committee was formed. Thursday, an army of volunteers were helping to create the event that hundreds of people can come out and enjoy.

There will be a variety of performances put on by many of Marley's friends and family. Food and drinks will be available at the festival, and there will also be a silent auction and t-shirts available for purchase.
