Marshals serving warrants in Ridgeville, officials say

RIDGEVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Reports of a stand-off or hostage situation are overblown, officials in Ridgeville said Thursday afternoon. Deputies and U.S. Marshals are serving warrants in the area.{}

According to Dorchester County officials, the U.S. Marshals Service were asked by deputies for help serving a warrant on a man wanted in an attempted murder.

Officials said there is no one barricaded in a home and no stand-off, officers are just confident that the wanted man is hiding in the house or in the area and they are taking their time looking for him to make sure he is caught.{}

Officials did not have the identity of the man immediately available.
