Matt Capobianco's statement
JAMES ISLAND, S.C. -- The past 523 days our daughter has been kept from us have been excruciating, but through it all, we have honored the requirements of the law, despite how hard it was.
We fought for Veronica through the courts and won.
In the end, it has been decided by every court who has reviewed the case, that Veronica is our daughter and we are her parents.
When they came to remove her from our home, there was no "transition plan," no process to protect our sweet baby from the emotional trauma of being taken from her parents and the only home she has ever known since birth. She was simply here one moment and gone the next.
We have been advocates of a smooth transition back to normal for Veronica from the moment the courts demanded she be returned to us. We have been all about working together, doing what's right for Veronica.
But our extended hand of love has been slapped away and the judicial system has been spat on by those who are holding our daughter. Enough is enough.
We are calling upon federal and state officials, including Attorney General Eric Holder, the head of the FBI, Bob Mueller, as well as Governor Haley, and Governor Fallin of Oklahoma, to take action to bring our daughter home to us today. Send someone to the location where our daughter is being held and work with us to bring her home today.
No more delays, no more excuses. Our daughter has been kidnapped and I expect the situation to be treated as such.
If this doesn't happen, I will be boarding a flight to Oklahoma today and I am coming to get my daughter. I expect her bag to be packed and that she will be ready and waiting to come home. I expect Oklahoma law enforcement to escort me to the premises where my daughter is said to be held currently and if necessary, arrest anyone who attempts to hold her captive.
The legal games are over. It's time for Veronica to come home. Veronica, little stinker, daddy's coming.
