Mayor Summey hospitalized with infection
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C.(WCIV) -- North Charleston Mayor Keith Summey is back in the hospital.
The mayor's son, Charleston County Council Chairman Elliot Summey told ABC News 4, his father was hospitalized due to an infection in his knee stemming from a recent gallbladder surgery.
Summey underwent successful surgery Tuesday to remove the infection and scar tissue.
He is said to be resting comfortably and is expected to be released Wednesday or Thursday.
