MCCLELLANVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- A McClellanville man was arrested after Charleston County deputies say he threatened the life of his wife and held a knife to her throat.
According to deputies, officers were dispatched to a Bellfield Road home where Orlando Richardson was reportedly holding a knife to his wife's throat. A report states that Richardson had fled the area by the time officers arrived.
Deputies talked to Richardson's wife and two other victims, who said a heated argument over respect led to Richardson getting a kitchen knife and threatening to "kill her (expletive) ass." Deputies noted in the report that Richardson was living in the Bellfield Road home and had three children with his wife.
According to the report, the victims told deputies that Richardson ran before deputies arrived, but turned around and told his wife "you better not let me catch you in the streets." Then he ran again.
Deputies collected the knife that Richardson dropped on the floor, the report states.
According to reports, Richardson had three outstanding arrest warrants at the time of last week's incident with his wife.
Deputies were able to find Richardson and put him under arrest. He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.
