Miami man guilty of 2009 Seabrook slaying

BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCIV) - A Miami man was sentencedto 33 years in prison Thursday for the 2009 slaying of a Seabrook man.

After afour-day trial, 36-year-old Antonio Collins was convicted of murder, first-degreeburglary and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime.

On June 22, 2009, a neighbor saw two menapproached the back of a home on Seabrook Road{} and asked what theywere doing there. One of the men drew a pistol and held to his head. The menwalked the man around the house to the front door and opened fire on the man and another person inside the home.

Inside the home,27-year-old Ronald Coleman, Jr. was shot four times and died at the scene.During the exchange, one of the suspects was wounded.

Investigators discoveredbloody footprints leading from the scene to a point on Seabrook Road where they believe thesuspects got into a car.

Investigators found the murder weapon nearby.

The case went cold until 2010when information about the two suspects was linked back to the murder during a federal druginvestigation in Hampton County.
