MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) - If you're already ready for some fall fun, the West Farm Corn Maze in Moncks Corner opens this weekend.
The owners of the West Farm will open their gates to the public at 5 p.m. on Friday and it will be open every weekend through Nov. 4, except Halloween night.
The owner says this is the eighth year for the corn maze, which started out as a little something extra for them to do to get people to visit the farm, but these days the event helps them pay the bills.
This year's maze is in the shape of a scarecrow and two pumpkins with "West" carved into it.
"It's six acres," said Charlotte West, co-owner of the West Farm Corn Maze. "It's about three miles of trails. And the corn is between 9.5- to 10.5-feet tall so it's super difficult this year. It's really thick. We were blessed with a good rain and a good corn crop."
Those who are brave enough to try the trail will get a map to help direct them and must find twelve checkpoints throughout the maze.
The farm also offers a small maze for kids that is about 0.3 miles long.
