Mt. Pleasant police respond to 'barricaded subject'
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police were called Thursday afternoon to a home in the Heron Point Subdivision for a "barricaded subject," but the scene ended peacefully, officials said.
Officers were called to the home on Marsh Grass Boulevard just before 4 p.m. Thursday. They initially believed the person in the home was possibly armed with a gun and a knife and that other people might be in danger inside the home.
SWAT members and negotiators were called to the scene just after 6:30 p.m. and were able to convince the woman inside to leave the home.
"During the incident, one of the SWAT operators experienced an accidental discharge of his firearm," a spokesman for the Mount Pleasant Police Department said in a news release.
No one was injured.
