Deputies: Fugitive's girlfriend arrested; drugs found in car

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- The man who Dorchester County deputies say ran from a drug check on Tuesday is still at large, but his girlfriend was arrested Tuesday night.

Police also found hundreds of grams of illicit drugs in his home.

Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching for Antuan Prioleau, who fled into a wooded area near Ladson Road and Palmetto Commerce Parkway Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Deputies executed a search warrant at Prioleau's home and found 866 grams of heroin, 578 grams of cocaine, 34 grams of marijuana and $8,000 in cash. His girlfriend, Sonobia Amelia Grayer, was arrested at the home for possession of narcotics.

Dorchester deputies added that the manhunt stemmed from a drug investigation that led to a car chase and crash.

North Charleston officials said police and deputies were conducting a joint drug operation in the area when a person in a sedan tried to drive away from the sweep and crashed into another car at Ladson Road and Palmetto Commerce Parkway. Officials said the people in the second car were taken to a nearby hospital.

Hospital officials say they were treated and released on Tuesday.

Highway Patrol officials are handling the crash investigation and identified the first suspect as Prioleau. After the accident, Prioleau ran from the area.

Officers from Dorchester and Charleston counties and North Charleston and Summerville police departments all participated in the search. Prioleau was able to escape capture on Tuesday night, however.
