NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The City of North Charleston will soon have a first.

Chief Gregory Bulanow with the North Charleston Fire Department said Thursday that they are currently conducting sea trials on a fire boat the department has purchased. Bulanow said it would be the department's first fire boat.

The boat is expected to be delivered to North Charleston the third week of June. It will then be placed into service after training.

Bulanow said the sea trials are being conducted in Kingston, Ontario where the boat was made.
