NAACP plans meeting to discuss North Charleston crime

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston branch of the NAACP will hold a community meeting to discuss the recent string of crimes in North Charleston.{}

According to the group, the meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23, inside the Fellowship Hall of the Morris Brown AME Church on Morris Street.{}

Since the start of the year, there have been more than a dozen shootings across the Lowcountry; most of them have been in North Charleston.{}

The year started with a trio of shootings just a few miles from each other. Three women were shot, two of whom died.

So far, police have not announced any arrests in the North Charleston shootings.{}
