NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police are investigating a possible explosion that left one person injured.
A police spokesman said officers responded to a home on Mahi Mahi Way around 8 a.m.
According to the police report, responding officers found the victim "sitting on the stair case in the house with his right arm bleeding and hand missing due to the explosion."
Police said that the victim is a 13-year-old boy who was taken to the Medical University Hospital.
Investigators with the bomb squad responded to piece together what happened. Several juveniles were detained for interviews but were released to their parents later in the day.
