{}NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The Charleston County Sheriff's Office arrested a North Charleston Police officer just after midnight Wednesday.According to the incident report, a CCSO deputy saw a brown Chevy Silverado heading west on Ashley Phosphate at a "high rate of speed."The deputy said he tried to catch up with the truck and reached speeds of over 110 MPH with the truck weaving in and out of traffic.The truck's driver finally pulled over when a second unit arrived on scene. The driver, identified as Maurice Leverne Huggins, was detained. When deputies searched the truck they found Huggins' service weapon and NCPD badge. They also found a silver flask with a "strong odor of alcohol" inside.The reporting deputy said Huggins "smelt of alcohol and may have been drinking but did not seem to be impaired or intoxicated."Once Huggins was processed at the detention center, deputies also found a fake $100 bill in his possession.According to a booking report, Huggins was charged with reckless driving, open container and not having insurance. He was given a total bond of $1152.
