NCPD: Man charged after deadly shooting on Rivers Avenue

NORTH CHARLESTON,S.C. (WCIV) -- A man was charged with murder after he shot and killed anotherman in the parking lot of North Park Grill on Sunday, said officials with theNorth Charleston Police Department.Officers said they arrived at the business in Otranto Plazaon Rivers Avenueat about 1:20 Sunday morning. That's where investigators found Michael Knight,24, of Goose Creek,in the parking lot with gunshot wounds.Knight was rushed to Trident Medical Centerwhere he later died, officials said. Detectives said they were able to identify a possible suspect and begansearching for him in the area of Crossroads Drive near Greenridge Road in North Charleston. While looking for him, someonegave police a tip about a man hiding in the bushes, officers said.

"I was looking out my back porch and I seen this guy justrunning through the bushes.{} And that wasit," said Michael Anderson, a neighbor who lives on Crossroads Drive.Chad Thomas Cochran, 26, was charged with murder and possession of a firearmduring the commission of a violent crime officials said.Police believe the victim and the suspect were involved in an argument at NorthPark Grill before the shooting.The North Charleston Police Department is still investigating.
