NCPD: vehicle crashes into business, starts small fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A small fire started inside a business on Ashley Phosphate Road after a vehicle crashed into it Thursday night, said officials with the North Charleston Police Department.

Officials said the driver may have suffered a medical emergency that resulted in his vehicle running off the road and crashing into one of the businesses in the Coastal Glass Business Center, officials said.

Firefighters quickly put the fire out, officials said.

Officials said the driver is being taken to the hospital to be checked out.

Officials with the North Charleston Police Department are investigating.
