New app allows SC students to report bullying
BEAUFORT, S.C. (AP) - The Beaufort County School District is going high tech with its campaign to end bullying in school.
The Beaufort Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1sXQP0b ) that beginning with the new school year, the district will have a new app for tablets to allow students to anonymously report bullying.
The app being developed by the district will be on all tablet devices issued by the district.
Student Services director Gregory McCord says the app will also allow students to find other information about bullying.
Superintendent Jeff Moss says the new app is not directly related to the April suicide of a middle school student in the district. Parents and friends say the child's suicide was largely caused by bullying.
