New charges, new arrests, new suspect sought in recent armed robberies
MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- Law enforcement officials have issued additional arrest warrants, made additional arrests and slapped two men already in jail with additional charges in a recent string of armed robberies east of the Cooper River.
Kenneth Oredell Murray and Cleveland Clarence Major, both of Mount Pleasant have both been charged with the July 22 robbery of the Pizza Hut on Highway 17. Both were already in jail -- Murray charged in a recent robbery at the Seaside Farms Piggly Wiggly.
In addition to the new charges for Major and Murray, police arrested and charged Dante Justin Smalls on Tuesday in connection to the July 25 robbery at the Piggly Wiggly.
A fourth suspect has also been named in that crime and a warrant has been issued for his arrest. Police were already looking for Jarret Eric Graddic of Linnen Lane in Mount Pleasant. Now, in addition to searching for Graddick they are looking to find Preston Swinton of Hamlin Road.
Officials say Graddick and Swinton should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information concerning their location is asked to contact the Mount Pleasant Police Department at 843-884-4167 or CrimeStoppers at 843-554-1111.
