New lead reopens Berkeley County cold case

      BERKELEY COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) - A New lead in a 25-year-oldBerkeley County cold case may finally bring answers for the family of a murdered5-year-old.

      Justin Turner of Moncks Corner went missing in March of 1989. Twodays later, investigators found his body just feet from his home inside of acamper that belonged to his father and stepmother.

      Officials said at the time that the camper had been searched theday before finding the boy's body.

      After an autopsy, investigators revealed that the boy had beensexually assaulted and strangled.

      But investigators were never able to put blame for the murder onanyone and the case's trail slowly went cold as the years passed.

      However, that all changed when officials say someone gave them atip.

      "A new name or a name was introduced to us and we're checking onit, but I can't comment any further on that," said sheriff's office spokesman DanMoon Monday evening.
