MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) -- Myrtle Beach police say they're still searching for Brittanee Drexel, and their search is once again bringing them to the Lowcountry.Officials with the MBPD say they will search in Charleston and Georgetown counties this weekend.According to Capt. David Knipes with the MBPD, Saturday's search is not based on any new evidence or information. Investigators are just doing their due diligence.Knipes said the search will focus on the Georgetown-Charleston county line, including the same area they've searched previously, but they may hit some new spots. He said investigators are taking a fresh look at the old case file, going through old evidence.Seventeen at the time, Drexel was last seen leaving the Blue Water Hotel in Myrtle Beach. The teenager from Rochester, New York was on spring break with her friends.Since that time, investigators from the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office and Myrtle Beach Police Department have kept the case active.If you have information about Brittanee Drexel's disappearance, you can call the center for missing persons 24-hour tip line at 910-232-1687.
