No bond for man accused of murder

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- No bond was given to the man charged with murdering another man outside of an apartment complex on June 14.{}

Deputies arrested 22-year-old Deontre Pierce on Saturday.

According to court documents, deputies responded to a call at Ashley Oaks on Ashley Hall Plantation Road and found Juwan Reid with a gunshot wound on the back of his neck. Reid died as a result of the wound six days later.

The documents state that deputies found $300 and a small amount of marijuana in Juwan's possession.

A witness told deputies that Reid robbed Pierce at gunpoint prior to the shooting, according to court documents. At the time of the shooting, the court documents state that the witness was standing next to Reid when Pierce approached them with an unidentified individual.

According to the documents, the unidentified individual fired two gunshots and then fled with Pierce.

Deputies spoke with Pierce on Saturday before he was arrested and according to court documents, he told deputies that Reid had robbed him prior to the shooting of $300 and a small amount of marijuana.

He told deputies he was not involved in the shooting itself.
