MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Seattle-based Nordstrom announced Wednesday plans to open a Nordstrom Rack at the site of the old K-Mart in Mount Pleasant.
The store will hopefully open by Fall 2015.
The new Rack store will be a part of a total renovation of the former Kmart center and will be located just off Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and I-526.
"We have been looking for more opportunities to serve customers in South Carolina and we're excited to bring a Nordstrom Rack closer to home for customers in Mount Pleasant," said Geevy Thomas, president of Nordstrom Rack. "Bowman Place is an excellent location and we look forward to opening our doors next fall."
According to a Nordstrom release, it will be the third Rack store in South Carolina. The other locations are in Columbia and Greenville.
"With Nordstrom's long track record as one of the nation's top fashion retailers we believe there is no better choice than Nordstrom Rack to co-anchor our new Bowman Place development," said Donna Patterson, regional property manager for Grove Property Fund LLC.
