North Charleston police investigating 5th shooting of 2014

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police are investigating another shooting. This is the fifth shooting in seven days.{}

According to Charleston County dispatch officials, the shooting happened at a tire dealership on Rivers Avenue.

North Charleston police said they found a male victim with a gunshot wound. The man was taken to Medical University Hospital.

A police report says a passerby saw a man on the ground and called for help after seeing the man was covered in blood. According to the report, the man had been shot in the leg and stomach.

The report states the victim described the shooter as a hoodie-clad black man on a bicycle.

The victim was also a shooting victim at an incident on Elder Street in 2012.

On Jan. 1, there were three shootings that killed two women and wounded another. Police have not released any details about the suspects in the shootings or made any arrests.

On Monday night, police responded to a Mountainbrook Avenue home where a man had been shot in the leg after a struggle with the accused shooter. Police arrested a man matching the victim's description of the shooter, but have not charged him in the shooting.{}

The man was charged with resisting arrest and failure to stop for blue lights.
