North Charleston provides preview of Summey's State of the City address

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Mayor Keith Summey is ready to discuss a handful of issues Thursday night in his State of the City address.Mayor Summey says that 2013 was a great year for the City of North Charleston and that 2014 will be even better with hard work from everyone working and living in the city."We've got a lot of challenges for 2014 but we are up to those challenges primarily because we have a city council that works so diligently with us," said Mayor Summey. "We don't always agree but we end up agreeing in the end to what it takes to make this community move forward."The mayor sent out a preview of the topics he will be tackling. Among the topic he said he will touch on:

      • The Coliseum
      • Boeing
      • Bass Pro Shop
      • The Naval hospital
      • Road construction
      • The new Chicora playground
      • Fire and police departments
      • The Public Works facility
      • City finances

      The office of the mayor sent out a preview of his address."Everybody puts their best effort forward to make sure North Charleston truly is a community that you enjoy living in," he said. "And we only see 2014 as even brighter."The state of the city will take place at City Hall in North Charleston at 7 p.m. Thursday night.ABC News 4 will be there to cover it live so tune in at 6 and 7 p.m. for the latest.
