Northwoods mall reopened following afternoon evacuation

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - Police say the Northwoods Mall is back open after being evacuated Saturday afternoon.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, police said they found a note indicating some type of device may be in the mall.

The entire mall was evacuated and the surrounding area was completely blocked off to traffic as police searched the buildng.

Around 4:30 p.m., North Charleston police said the Charleston County Bomb Squad did not find any device in the building and Northwoods mall was reopening.{}

The closure caused a significant amount of traffic in the Northwoods mall area.{}
