OCSO: Man arrested after punching boss, killing him

{}ORANGEBURG, S.C. (WCIV) -- Orangeburg County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man they say killed a local business owner.According to a release from the OCSO, 37-year-old Terrance Gerome Davis was arrested on Monday.Davis is accused of hitting 65-year-old Vernon Thompson in the head twice while at his{} Whaley Street business. Davis was an employee of Thompson's."Davis has cooperated with investigators and willingly talked with officers when he learned of the victim's death," said Sheriff Leroy Ravenell.The incident happened on August 2. The coroner confirmed that Thompson died from blunt force trauma to his head.Investigators said they were able to talk to Thompson before he passed and he told them he was "punched by an employee after he fired the employee from his business."Davis will appear before an Orangeburg Magistrate on Tuesday afternoon.
