GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- There will be no criminal charges filed in the death of a Goose Creek infant, according to an incident report released Tuesday.
The Berkeley County Coroner's Office said Monday afternoon that they were investigating the death of an infant in Goose Creek. According to officials, the coroner's office was called to a home around 3:30 p.m.
According to the report, the child's mother told officers that she had been asleep with her child. When she woke up, the baby felt cold and was unresponsive.
Officials were not able to confirm the age of the child or the cause of death, adding that the coroner's office investigates all child deaths.
The Goose Creek Police Department is working with both the State Law Enforcement Division and the Berkeley County Coroner's Office are working together on the case.
No criminal charges have been filed in the case.
