NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- East Montague will soon see splashes of fall colors as grapevine wreaths are put up all along the avenue. The Charleston Merchants Association and the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department are using the wreaths to help the city's Christmas Fund, a charity for needy families.Anyone, including schools, businesses or churches, who would like to sponsor a 24" grapevine wreath with two sided orange ribbon to be placed on light poles lining the Olde Village can do so for between $15 and $50."A lot of us, especially around the holidays are thinking about how we can help out our community," said Ann Simmons, an Arts Coordinator with the city's Cultural Arts Department. "This particular opportunity with the wreaths is a way to beautify the area and also contribute to a charitable cause."For $15, a group can decorate a wreath they had last year. For $25, sponsors can decorate a wreath any way they would like and for $50 they can have their name or logo put on a pre-decorated wreath. The wreaths are available for sponsorship until Monday, September 24 and need to be ready to be hung up by October 1. They will be on display through the month of November.{}To sponsor a wreath or for more information contact the City of North Charleston Cultural Arts Department at (843) 740-5854 or culturalarts@northcharleston.org.
