One killed in North Charleston shooting

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was fatally wounded early Wednesday morning in a shooting in North Charleston.

According to North Charleston police officials, the shooting happened on Woodlawn Avenue just before midnight.

A spokesperson for NCPD said two men were in an argument over a child, one pulled out a gun and shot the other in the stomach. The victim was found lying in the driveway.

Police said the suspect was seen leaving the area in a white 2001 Buick Park Avenue. Investigators have identified the suspect as 26-year-old Bobby William Johnson, Jr. of North Charleston.

The wounded man was taken to Medical University Hospital. Officials confirmed Wednesday morning the man died.

The coroner has identified the victim as 22-year-old Daniel Patterson.

Witnesses told police Johnson and the victim were involved in an altercation when Johnson produced a handgun and shot the victim.{}

Johnson's last known address is on Sallie Street in North Charleston.
