Pearl Harbor anniversary memorial service

MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) -- It was a date President Franklin Delano Roosevelt said would live in infamy.Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum will host a Pearl Harbor 72nd Anniversary Memorial Service Saturday at 11 a.m.The service is sponsored by VFW Post 10624 Mount Pleasant and will be held in memory of the 25 known men from South Carolina who gave their lives during the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and other military installations on Dec. 7, 1941.The ceremony will include a laying of wreaths, calling of roll, and special speakers Captain Timothy Sparks and Dee Kirby of the Sons and Daughters of Pearl Harbor Survivors.Several survivors are expected to attend.Admission to the museum is free for attendees, but the $5 parking rate still applies.
