      MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Wednesday evening the Metanoia Community Development Corporation will be featured in the Volunteer 4 Phonebank. The organization helps teach leadership skills to young people in after school programs. Students in those programs learn how to build a business plan by managing two small companies. The Isoke Sisters Jewelry and Holdari Brothers Screen Printing Co. are both part of Metanoia's Entrepreneurship Curriculum.{} {}The group also invests in neighborhood development by encouraging home ownership and supplying free home repairs to people on low or fixed incomes.{}{}

      In order to provide these services, Metanoia has to rely heavily on volunteers and fundraising.{}

      One of their biggest fund raisers of the year is Metanoia's annual golf tournament. The tournament is on March 25 at the Daniel Island Club.{}{}

      If you would like to help, the organization is looking for volunteers to register golfers, sell raffle tickets and oversee players on the course. {}To sign up, call into the Phonebank from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The number is 881-5837.

      If you can't call during the phonebank, but still want to help, you can always call two other numbers any time of the day. Those numbers are: Dial 2-1-1 or (843) 744-HELP or 1-800-922-2283.
