Phonebank Spotlight: the United Methodist Early Response Team


      MT. PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) - Saturday in St. George, volunteers with the United Methodist Early Response Team (ERT) will be going house-to-house doing yard work for the disabled and elderly.{}

      The St. George Work Day will start at 8:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church on Parier Avenue.

      The ERT was created by the church to help in the aftermath of a disaster.{} Volunteers are trained to make damaged structures safe, dry and secure.{} They are required to go through 8 hours of basic disaster training, plus first aid and CPR. More than 240 volunteers are divided into regions across the state.If you would like to volunteer, please call in to the Volunteer 4 Phonebank on Wednesday between 6 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.{}
