NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man is in police custody after allegedly stabbing another man in the chest Saturday.

Ronnie Ware, 48, is charged with attempted murder.

Ware stabbed Rickey Hines, 52, on the left side of the chest, according to a police report from the North Charleston Police Department.

"The wound was approximately 1.5 inches in length and appeared to be down to the bone," investigators wrote in the report.

Police were called Saturday morning to Hines' home on Purcell Drive, where they were told Hines had gone to a nearby home on Suzanne Drive to borrow a lawnmower. It was there that he was stabbed, Hines told police.

Witnesses told police Hines was targeted "due to the fact that (Hines) tells others (Ware) is a junkie," the police report said.

Bond was set at $100,000 for Ware.
