Walker was taken to MUSC where he was pronounced dead.

Elias James Walker, 22, has been arrested and charged with murder. Other guests at the motel told ABC News 4 the victim was Elias' father.

According to the affidavit, Elias Walker confessed to stabbing his father in the chest and neck with a sword while he slept. In a police report, investigators said Elias Walker was "unusually calm" when initially questioned about his father's death.

After police were called to the hotel, Elias Walker was found outside Room 21, wearing socks that had blood on them, investigators said in the report.

Investigators noted in the report that Elias Walker seemed unphased by the death of his father. At one point, an investigator who interviewed him at the hotel asked Elias Walker if he had been drinking or doing drugs because he seemed so calm.

"Elias had an unusually calm demeanor considering how severe his father was injured," police said in the report.

Also, according to investigators, Elias Walker told police he left the hotel room - where the pair had been staying for months - to buy beer. Elias Walker told police his father had a large cut on "his head and neck area."
