Police: $1200 in fake money used at Walmart
WALTERBORO, S.C. (WCIV) - A dozen counterfeit $100 billswere handed to a Walmart clerk in Walterboro early Tuesday morning.
According to a police report, four people identified only asthree black men and one black woman paid for a computer, a surround soundsystem and a two-year warranty with the stack of fake bills.
The value of the computer, speakers and warranty was valuedat $1,157.
The store did not realize at the time of purchase that thebills were fake, the report stated.
According to the report, the store's management refused toturn the fake money over to police, opting instead to take the matter up withthe company's bank.
