Police: 2nd murder suspect surrendered Wednesday
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The second teen wanted in connection to a murder near a downtown Charleston park surrendered to police Wednesday evening.
According to Charleston police, 17-year-old Sequoia McKinnon, of North Charleston, was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
Shortly after Tuesday's murder, police detained 17-year-old Kareem McPherson. He was later charged with murder and possession of a firearm.
Police say the two were involved in the shooting death of 22-year-old Rhakym Capers, of Charleston. Capers was taken toe Medical University Hospital where he later died, police said.
Police have not released a motive for the killing.
