Police arrest man for downtown armed robbery
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston Police have arrested a man they think is responsible for an armed robbery that happened on Conroy Street.
According of officials the robbery happened around 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 10.
Police said the juvenile victim was walking on Conroy Street two men walked up to him with a handgun.
The boy told police the men ordered him to empty his pockets and when he refused, one of the suspects struck him in the head twice with the handgun. One of those times, the gun went off.
That's when the victim said the men reached into his pockets and took $25.
The police said the boy's injuries were "extremely minor" and didn't require medical assistance.
Anterio Bolton, 18, of North Charleston, is charged with armed robbery, assault and battery in the first degree and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.
He was given a total bond of $200,000.
