Dorchester officials: Bullets belonged to Summerville Elementary student

      SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officials at Dorchester District 2 said Thursday afternoon the bullets found on a bus actually belonged to a Summerville Elementary School student.{}

      Summerville High's{}exam schedule was altered Thursday morning when students had to be ushered out of their classes after a bus driver found two bullets on a bus.{}

      According to the district, the principal at Summerville Elementary met with the students who allegedly found the bullets on the bus. One of the students eventually admitted to having the bullets on the bus, officials said.{}

      Police questioned the student and will file an incident report. School officials are recommending disciplinary action for the student.

      According to police, Summerville High students were removed from their classes and safety checks were done out of "an abundance of caution."

      Police did not find any other weapons or ammunition.{}

      School district officials said the students on the bus were questioned and their belongings were searched. However, police have not determined the source of the bullets.{}
