      Police: Cab driver asks for fare, gets stabbed in the neck

      NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police are investigating a stabbing that happened Thursday night.According to police reports, officers were called to the parking lot of Dial America on Greenridge Road around 9:30 p.m. and found the victim standing next to his cab, holding a rag to the left side of his neck.Police reports say the victim told police he was stabbed by an "unknown white male" wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and white or black shoes."The suspect is identified in the police report as 36-year-old Bobby Thomas Lunstford Jr.Police noted a large amount of blood on the front of the victim's shirt as he told them he "picked the suspect up at Patrick's bar in West Ashley and drove him to North Bluff Apartments, but did not know the apartment number that the suspect was going to." After stopping at the apartments, the taxi driver says Lunstford wanted to go to Arby's on Greenridge Road.The victim says that's when he "confronted the suspect about payment and was stabbed." Police say Lunstford got out of the cab and ran off.Bobby Thomas Lunstford is described as a white male, around 5'06" in height and 165 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. If anyone has any information on his whereabouts they are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
