      Police: Couple had drugs with baby in the house

      CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A local couple is in police custody after investigators found drugs in their Windermere Boulevard home - along with the couple's 9-month-old child.

      Robert Ruplinger, 22, is charged with two counts of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute within close proximity of a school, three counts of possession of a controlled substance schedule four and unlawful conduct towards a child.

      Katherine Wood, 22, is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute within close proximity of a school and unlawful conduct towards a child.{}

      Charles Francis of the Charleston Police Department said the department's Special Investigations Unit served a search warrant Sept. 5 at the couple's apartment, 626-A Windermere Blvd.{}

      More than 500 grams of marijuana was found in the home, Francis said, as well as $875.

      Earlier, Ruplinger was found with other drugs in his car.{}

      "Ruplinger and Wood live in the apartment with their 9-month-old daughter," Francis said in a news release. "That is why they are charged with unlawful conduct towards a child."
