Police: Elderly disabled veteran attacked, robbed at Goose Creek gas station

GOOSE CREEK,S.C. (WCIV) - An elderly disabled veteran told police he was attacked androbbed by two men armed with a handgun outside a Goose Creek gas station earlyFriday morning.

According toa police report, an officer arrived at the Sunoco on St. James Avenue and foundthe victim sitting in his car holding a blood-soaked towel to his head. Therewas blood on his car and on the ground leading from the store to his car, thereport states.

The victimtold the officer that two black men approached him, demanded his wallet and hithim in the head. The victim said he could not give a description of the two attackers.

The victimwas taken to Trident Medical Center for treatment, the report states.

The clerk atthe store said the victim had been sitting in his car outside the store forabout two hours, and according to the report, she did not know of an assaultuntil officers arrived.

The clerktold officers that she had only had 10 customers in the 30 minutes beforepolice arrived and none of them seemed suspicious, the report states.

Police havenot been able to gather a description of the men.{}
